WELCOME TO THE OUTWARD BOUND TRUST - SRI LANKA
The concept of Outward Bound Training was the brainchild of Kurt Hahn. He believed that people needed to develop their skills and felt that this could be best done by using adventure as a training medium in a wilderness environment by challenging the participants to better themselves.
It was the thinking of educators such as Kurt Hahn and Laurence Holt (Chairman of Blue Star Shipping Lines), that the only way to cut the losses suffered by allied seamen during the Second World War was to train and prepare them for the exact eventualities that they would face. This resulted in the idea of Outward Bound Training.
